Or, is your company or charity organization looking for a new way to reach the community and raise funds?? Okay, first off we want to let you know that this is not a BBQ competition! Due to lack of time to prepare for a first-class BBQ contest, we are going to have to postpone the competition until 2009. However we would still like to invite you or your group to come out and cook and sell your BBQ. We are now excepting applications for BBQ vendors of all types. We are currently accepting BBQ vendor registrations for those of you who are interested in getting involved and selling your BBQ to the public. For more information visit the Urbana Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival's MySpace site at http://www.myspace.com/urbanablues . *************************************** ~ Rib Rubber's Report by Peter Cravath White BBQ Sauce: If you're like me, you've got an eye out for a twist for your chicken from the routine red or vinegar based sauces. As good as they are, they still resemble traditional barbecue sauce bouncing out of the familiar mold and you might be growing tired of the same old renditions. Enter white barbecue sauce. Easy to prepare from pantry ingredients, carries a bit of fat to boost the flavor quotient, but what's more important; it allows the smoky flavor of your chicken to come through. It's been used at competitions, and rumor has it that a number of first place finishers are in its corner. So for a double whammy in flavor and in accolades from friends and family, have a run at it. Adapted from Southern Living recipe. Prep time 5 minutes 1-1/2 cups good mayonnaise 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup white vinegar 1 T coarsely ground pepper 1 T Creole mustard 1 t salt 1 t sugar 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 t prepared horseradish Whisk all ingredients together, store in your refrigerator for 1 week. When chicken is done, remove from grill and give the pieces a good drench and soak in this sauce. No need to brush on while grilling. Serve up with an assertively bubbly beverage. *************************************** ~ ILBBQS Members Win Big in Arkansas Chicken 20 Pork Patrol 19 One Slice at a Time 18 cancersuckschickago.com 17 J and J Redneck 16 D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. 15 BBQ Lover 14 BBQr's Delight 13 Lotta Bull BBQ 12 Ghostriver Smoke-A-Holic 11 QUAU 10 Bub-Ba-Q 9 Pellet Envy 8 Pink Flamingo BBQ 7 Smokin' Guns BBQ 6 EJ's Q 5 Wizards of Que 4 Tarheel Smokers 3 Slabs 2 Red Neck Royalty 1 Four Men and a Pig Ribs 20 Hogapalooza Red Hog 19 Bad to the Bone 18 QUAU 17 Naaman's Mustard Sauce 16 Ghostriver Smoke-A-Holic 15 Smokin' Guns BBQ 14 Slabs 13 Florida's Skin and Bones 12 Tarheel Smokers 11 Smokin' Okies 10 BBQr's Delight 9 Smoke on Wheels 8 The Slabs.com 7 J and J Redneck 6 Smokin' Triggers 5 learn2Q.com 4 Blazen BBQ 3 Four Men and a Pig 2 Smoking in the Dark 1 Ulcer Acres BBQ Pork 20 Naaman's Mustard Sauce 19 Benny's BBQ 18 Redneck Royalty 17 cancersuckschicago.com 16 Tarheel Smokers 15 Let's Kick Some Ash 14 Pink Flamingo BBQ 13 One Slice at a Time 12 Smokin' Guns BBQ 11 Bad to the Bone 10 Florida's Skin and Bones 9 Four Men and a Pig 8 Lotta Bull BBQ 7 Delta Smoke 6 Smokin' Triggers 5 Fowl Smokin' Swine 4 Blazen BBQ 3 Smokin' Okies 2 BBQr's Delight 1 Motley Que Crew Brisket 20 Wizards of Que 19 Camp-bell BBQ 18 One Slice at a Time 17 Naaman's Mustard Sauce 16 Bub-Ba-Q 15 Pellet Envy 14 cancersuckschicago.com 13 Kenneys Kountry Kookers 12 Blazen BBQ 11 Pink Flamingo BBQ 10 Smoke on Wheels 9 Lotta Bull BBQ 8 Sue B Que 7 Ghostriver Smoke-A-Holic 6 Ulcer Acres BBQ 5 Let's Kick Some Ash 4 J and J Redneck 3 Delta Smoke 2 KC Can Crew 1 QUAU Overall 20 Pink Flamingo BBQ 19 Wizards of Que 18 Bad to the Bone 17 EJ's Q 16 One Slice at a Time 15 Delta Smoke 14 Ulcer Acres BBQ 13 Pellet Envy 12 cancersuckschicago.com 11 Ghostriver Smoke-A-Holic 10 Lotta Bull BBQ 9 Smoke on Wheels 8 Smokin' Guns BBQ 7 J and J Redneck 6 Tarheel Smokers 5 BBQr's Delight 4 KC Can Crew 3 Blazen BBQ 2 Four Men and a Pig 1 QUAU HUGE CONGRATS TO QUAU, ULCER ACRES & CANCERSUCKSCHICAGO.COM...WAY TO REPRESENT ILLINOIS BBQ! *************************************** ~ Steeleville Contest Set to Roll this Weekend (sent via email) Note: Please visit ILBBQS.com for hot links to the files mentioned and directions.
